Cool Down 2 and Warm Up 2: Ducati's new products in the technical base layer sector

  • Ducati presents new product lines of technical base layer garments designed in collaboration with Aquafil, a leading company in the sector
  • The garments are made with Dryarn®, an innovative microfibre that guarantees optimal breathability and keeps the body always dry and at the correct temperature in both the hottest and the most rigid climates

Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 23 June 2022 – Ducati presents the new Cool Down 2 and Warm Up 2 technical base layer product lines. Created in collaboration with Aquafil, a global leader in the production of synthetic fibres, the lines consist of products designed to be worn under jackets, trousers or helmets to increase the rider's thermal comfort. The garments of the Ducati technical base layer collection are made of lightweight fabric and created without seams in order to eliminate irritation and discomfort from rubbing.

The products of the Cool Down 2 and Warm Up 2 lines are made with Dryarn®, an innovative microfibre born from the tradition and experience of Aquafil. In addition to being the lightest fibre existing in nature, Dryarn® is water repellent, breathable, bacteriostatic and dermatologically tested. Thanks to its low specific weight, this microfibre makes it possible to produce extremely light garments, while maintaining the thermal insulation capacity. The same product made of Dryarn® can weigh -32% compared to the wool equivalent and -34% compared to the equivalent polyester garment.

As the latest generation Activewear garments, the new Ducati collection stands out for its breathability and thermoregulation. Excellent breathability is guaranteed by the differentiated fabric structure, which absorbs excess moisture, prevents sweat from flowing and causes it to evaporate, eliminating it completely, to always leave the skin dry. Thermoregulation is ensured by the Dryarn® microfibre structure, which creates a breathable barrier while maintaining the correct microclimate of the body.

The Cool Down 2 line, designed for sporty use on the track or on the road, includes items which have cooling, anti-sweat and anti-odour properties. The Cool Down 2 line is made up of garments designed specifically for motorcycle use, ideal for enjoying every curve even on the hottest days. Among the items in the line are technical t-shirts (long, short or sleeveless), balaclavas and technical socks.

The technical t-shirts, designed by Drudi Performance, combine an attractive design with excellent performance in terms of lightness, elasticity and breathability. They are equipped with areas with a new large-mesh construction to optimize body transpiration and eliminate excess heat in the areas of greatest perspiration.
The new Cool Down 2 balaclava by Drudi Performance is ideal for hot climates and summer seasons. It is equipped with highly breathable micro-mesh zones that regulate the temperature and allow you to stay dry while guaranteeing excellent technical comfort and high breathability.
The tech socks make breathability and freshness their strong points. The selected materials, in addition to ensuring good thermal comfort and perfect expulsion of sweat even on the hottest days, ensure comfort and feeling while riding, thanks to the reinforced areas with a specific design for motorcycle use.

The Warm Up 2 line, designed for sport-touring and road use, includes items that are the ideal allies for enjoying every ride to the fullest and not giving up on fun and riding pleasure even when the temperatures get colder. The collection includes long-sleeve thermal t-shirt and pants, balaclava and thermal socks.

The long-sleeve technical t-shirt and thermal pants, by Drudi Performance, represent an ideal combination of comfort, elasticity and breathability. They are equipped with areas with a new large-mesh construction, which optimize body transpiration and eliminate excess heat in the areas of greatest perspiration. The high-quality fibres of these garments guarantee thermal insulation towards the outside, absorbing moisture and sweat before they touch the skin.
The modern and functional Warm Up 2 balaclava is a perfect travel companion on the coldest days. The optimized design protects the neck, temples and chin from the wind and, combined with the performance of the Dryarn® fibre, hinders the dispersion of heat and insulates from the outside.
The tech socks are designed to guarantee the best thermal comfort even at the coldest temperatures. The composition of the foot in merino wool guarantees warmth and breathability. The optimized design features strengthened zones, with a specific design for motorcycle use.

The Streetfighter V2 range is expanded with a new colour scheme

  • Ducati Streetfighter V2 range expands with the introduction of a new matt metallic green colour that enhances the design of the bike
  • Streetfighter V2 is a sports naked with a unique character, aimed at motorcyclists who are looking for a bike capable of combining the sporting DNA of the Panigale V2 with the riding attitude and style of the Streetfighter
  • The Storm Green colour scheme, available in dealerships from July 2022, joins the Ducati Red version

Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 13 June 2022 – Ducati expands the Streetfighter V2 range with the introduction of the new Storm Green colour scheme which will be available in dealerships from July 2022.

The metallic green chosen by the Centro Stile Ducati enhances the clean, sharp and essential lines of the Streetfighter V2, reinforcing the unique character of the bike and its innate ability to attract attention. The matt finish is perfectly combined with the chromatic context of the mechanical parts, while the metallic grain creates a very evident play of contrasts on the different surfaces.

Streetfighter V2 is aimed at those riders who are looking for a bike capable of combining the sporting DNA of the Panigale V2 with the riding attitude and style of the Streetfighter . An intuitive and easy-to-handle model, with the right power to guarantee adrenaline-pumping performance and maximum riding fun, combined with a high-level electronic package that allows to enjoy the bike in safety.

The Streetfighter V2 is essential and characterized by a truly sharp design, which embraces the classic stylistic elements of the Streetfighter V4, starting with the distinctive headlight, which recalls the V-shaped DRL typical of Ducati sports bikes and is inspired by the famous grin of the Joker.

Ergonomics has major rider-centric features and is focused on road use with the added values of sportiness and comfort. The high and wide aluminium handlebars replace the handlebar risers of the Panigale V2. The saddle now is wider and has new padding that contributes to make this bike even more comfortable. In addition, the footpegs have been repositioned to increase the amount of room. All these improvements allow the biker great control in sporty riding and facilitate everyday use at the same time.

The engine of the Streetfighter V2 is the 955 cc Euro 5-compliant Superquadro, capable of delivering a maximum power of 153 hp at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 101.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm. This engine is very elastic and proves to be not only usable and enjoyable on the road but also effective and excellent on the track, where it can be easily managed. Compared to the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 has a shorter final ratio (15/45 vs 15/43) which guarantees greater torque to the wheel at road speeds while giving better engine responsiveness when re-opening the throttle.

While developing this new model, Ducati engineers focused their attention on the chassis set-up. As a matter of fact, the Superquadro engine is used as a bearing element connecting the compact front structure, consisting of a monocoque frame in die-cast aluminium fixed to the engine head. The single-sided swingarm, which is also connected to the engine, is 16 mm longer compared to that of the Panigale V2, contributing to ensure the stability of the whole bike.
To this platform are added the 43 mm Showa BPF front fork and the Sachs shock absorber, featuring dedicated calibration to make the bike more comfortable on the road as well as easily adjustable for a whole new dimension of fun on the racetrack.

The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with 5-spoke wheels and the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres: 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/60 ZR17 at the rear, which provide a rapid response to the rider’s needs together with an extra cornering feeling. Except for the adoption of brake pads characterised by a less aggressive bite, more suitable for road use, the whole braking system is faithfully taken from the Panigale V2 and features Brembo M4.32 monobloc radial calipers with 320 mm diameter discs.

The complete and modern electronic equipment that equips the Streetfighter V2 is inherited from the Panigale V2. The six-axis IMU inertial platform supervises all the electronic controls of the bike and measures its position in space in real time, sending the information to the control units that manage the controls. The electronic package includes: ABS Cornering (present on all bikes in the Ducati range and in this case in the EVO version), Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up / down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.

The Streetfighter V2 features three Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Wet) with dedicated control settings. The electronic equipment can be enhanced by the accessories contained in the Ducati Performance catalogue, such as the Ducati Multimedia System which allows a smartphone to be connected or the Ducati Data Analyser (DDA + GPS) for the collection and subsequent analysis of riding data.

The bike is equipped with full-LED headlights with front DRL and a 4.3″colour TFT dashboard with an intuitive interface that recalls the family-feeling of the Streetfighter V4.

The Streetfighter V2 in the new Storm Green colour scheme with black rims and red tags joins the sporty version in Ducati Red.
